The Torrance Course at the Fairmont St Andrews is at present, undergoing extensive remedial works which are due to be completed in the Spring of 2009.
The 18 hole, 7039 yard course opened in 2001 and has since been named as a regional Open Qualifying course for 2010, hosted the Valiano Trophy, Wateraid Pro Am and 2 European Tour Events.
The remedial works are to include rebuilding each of the tees, additional drainage throughout the course, two sprinkler heads by each of the greens, a new irrigation system and increased capacity of the jolding basins to aid with better water control. Some of the tees will also be relocated to offer better playability, and bunkers will be redesigned.
While the work is taking place on the Torrance, the second course at the Fairmont, the Devlin will be operating as normal. A 7,400 yard cliff top course, the Devlin opened in 2002 and offers a challenging game with stunning cliff top tees and greens framed by the skyline of St Andrews.
